Communications
The Communications Office is responsible for communicating and promoting the mission and good works of the Diocese of Paterson’s bishop, parishes, schools, and ministries.
The Communications Office manages Bishop Kevin J. Sweeney’s press office and oversees public relations, media relations, and publicity for the diocese, our parishes, and schools.
It also manages our diocesan social media channels, the bishop’s podcast, and our diocesan websites in partnership with various ministries and offices.
The Beacon is the primary news and information source for the Diocese of Paterson, N.J., and is managed by the Diocese of Paterson’s Communications staff.
The bishop’s podcast, Beyond The Beacon, is produced by the Communications Office.

The Communications Office serves as a public relations resource for our parishes, schools, and diocesan offices in media relations, crisis management, publicity, marketing, and more. We aim to nurture a culture of storytelling and discovery in the Diocese of Paterson.

The communications team is available to help our parishes, schools, and diocesan ministries and offices develop positive relationships with local community news outlets and social media influencers. We are also seeking great storytelling opportunities to pitch to news outlets.
