Role of the Diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator
The Victim Assistance Coordinator assists people and families who are suffering in the aftermath of sexual abuse. Shame and fear have made it especially difficult for people to speak of the harm perpetrated on them when they were children.
Anyone who reports abuse or comes to the Diocese for help and support will be treated with sensitivity, respect, and kindness.
Victims’ Assistance Coordinator – is responsible for providing support and offering therapeutic services to victims of clergy sex abuse. He maintains contacts with all victims to evaluate their satisfaction with their treatment providers, and assess their level of progress in the healing process.
