Job Description

The Pastoral Associate is responsible for the overall direction of Faith Formation, Youth Ministry, Parish Outreach Programs and other administrative functions. The Coordinator of Religious Education and Youth Ministry Coordinator report to the Pastoral Associate. The Pastoral Associate reports to the Pastor.

Duties include the following:

• Interview, counsel and assist clients in need
• Coordinate the Food Pantry Assistance Program
• Coordinate and Facilitate the Good Samaritan Ministry and various projects
• Record, monitor and reconcile gift cards and cash fund distributions
• Facilitate the Bereavement Support Group sessions twice per year
• Oversee the Homebound Ministry
• Moderate the Lazarus Ministry and Annual Mass of Remembrance
• Plan and coordinate the Annual Parish Lenten Mission
• Manage and update the Parish Website and Facebook Page
• Prepare the Weekly Hubspot communication to parishioners
• Administer WeShare platform and assist Business Manager
• Administer of ECatholic payments
• Coordinate Jumbo 50/50 and Christmas Raffles
• Coordinate Parsippany Fall Festival participation
• Coordinate Youth Protection Program-maintain records and enforce diocesan safe environment policies for those who work with minors
• Administer background checks as required
• Take minutes for the monthly Staff Meetings
• Coordinate the Thanksgiving Mass preparation
• Oversee the Faith Formation Program through the Coordinator for Religious Education
• Oversee the Youth Ministry Program through the Youth Ministry Coordinator

Qualifications:

• A practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education or Church Management (Master's preferred)
• Experience in parish administration
• Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, parishioners and clients
• Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
• Must pass a background check and receive a Certificate in Protecting God's Children training

This is a full-time position, some evenings or weekend duties as required.

Salary range: $38,000–$50,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Job Description

The Youth Minister is responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading a comprehensive parish youth ministry program for middle and high school students. The program will provide opportunities for evangelization, faith formation, service, leadership development, and community building in alignment with the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Development
Plan, organize, and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program for grades 8-12.

• Provide gatherings, small groups, and special events that foster spiritual growth, catechesis, prayer, service, and fellowship.
• Incorporate opportunities for retreats, mission trips, conferences, and service projects.
• Ensure all activities integrate Scripture, Catholic teaching, and sacramental life.

Faith Formation & Sacramental Life

• Collaborate with the pastor and faith formation staff to support Confirmation preparation and ongoing discipleship.
• Promote active participation of youth in parish life, liturgy, and service.
• Provide resources and mentoring for youth to grow in prayer, vocation awareness, and Catholic identity.

Leadership & Relationship Building

• Recruit, train, and mentor adult volunteers and young adult leaders for youth ministry.
• Build strong relationships with youth and their families, creating a welcoming and safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents and parish community about youth ministry opportunities.

Administration & Collaboration

• Manage program budget and maintain necessary records (attendance, permission slips, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with diocesan safe environment and youth protection policies.
• Collaborate with parish staff to integrate youth ministry with overall parish mission.
• Participate in diocesan events, trainings, and gatherings related to youth ministry.

Qualifications

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Training/certification in youth ministry preferred (or willingness to pursue certification).
• Experience in youth ministry, catechesis, or related work with adolescents. -Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and attend retreats/trips as required.

Salary: $15.49 per hour to $25.00 per hour depending on experience

Job Description

The Coordinator of Religious Education (CRE) is responsible for designing, implementing, and administering the parish religious education program for children in grades K-8, including preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation. The CRE works in collaboration with the pastor, parish staff, catechists, parents, and volunteers to foster the faith formation and spiritual growth of children in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership & Administration
• Develop, implement, and oversee the parish religious education program for grades K-8.
• Ensure the curriculum aligns with diocesan guidelines and Church teaching.
• Coordinate the schedule of classes, sacramental preparation sessions, retreats, and liturgical celebrations.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteer catechists and aides.
• Provide ongoing formation and resources for catechists.
• Maintain accurate student enrollment, attendance, and sacramental records within the current ParishSoft database

Sacramental Preparation

• Direct sacramental preparation programs for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation.
• Collaborate with parents to ensure their active role in their child's faith formation.
• Organize parent meetings, workshops, and retreats related to sacramental preparation.
• Work with the pastor and parish staff to plan liturgies and celebrations of the sacraments.

Pastoral & Catechetical Leadership

• Foster an environment where faith is nurtured and children experience a living encounter with Christ.
• Model and promote Catholic values and prayer in all aspects of the program.
• Provide opportunities for students and families to participate in parish life and service.
• Be available to families for questions, guidance, and support in the faith journey of their children.

Administrative Duties

• Prepare and manage the program budget.
• Communicate regularly with parents, catechists, and the parish community.
• Ensure compliance with diocesan safe environment policies.
• Participate in diocesan meetings, workshops, and continuing education as required.

Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.
• Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Certification as a catechetical leader (or willingness to work toward certification).
• Experience in parish religious education, catechesis, or teaching. -Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and families.

Salary: $16.00 per hour to $40.00 per hour depending on experience
